2018 Format 4 Tempora F400 45 03L

The Format-4 Tempora 45.03L is a high-performance industrial edgebander. This unit combines advanced automation—powered by the X-Motion Plus control system—with a comprehensive suite of finishing units, allowing for complete panel processing in a single pass.

The machine is in good operating condition. It has undergone annual preventive maintenance performed exclusively by Felder’s official technical service team, with the most recent full-scale service completed in September 2026 (including a complete replacement of the pre-milling cutters). It is currently in operation as part of a production line and can be inspected and tested under power until the end of December 2026. It will be available for collection starting in January 2027.

The machine features a comprehensive, high-end configuration, including the X-Motion Plus intelligent control system with a 10.4" Smartouch touchscreen, a pneumatic infeed gate for workpiece spacing, and an overhead pressure beam equipped with two staggered rows of pressure rollers (height-adjustable via a hand crank). Panel preparation is handled by a pre-milling unit with diamond-tipped cutters (Z 2+2, D 80 x 49 mm, 2 x 0.75 kW) capable of removing up to 2 mm of material, followed by a bearing-mounted rotating coil holder designed for large-diameter edgebanding rolls (Ø 740 mm).

For gluing, the machine is equipped with a Teflon-coated glue pot featuring pneumatic control and the "Easyclean" system; it is fully certified and validated for use with both EVA and PUR adhesives (the machine has previously been operated using PUR glue). The edge-processing sequence includes an end-trimming unit mounted on an inclined linear guide, featuring a 0.75 kW high-frequency motor (12,000 rpm); a top and bottom multi-function milling unit with positioning controlled by the X-Motion Plus system; and a corner-rounding (profile-milling) unit for panel thicknesses up to 45 mm, which is compatible with postforming and softforming finishes.

The final finishing section includes top and bottom radius scrapers for 2 mm and 3 mm plastic edgebanding, top and bottom surface scrapers for removing excess adhesive, a buffing unit with top and bottom brushes, and a spray system for the automatic application of release agents and cleaning fluids.
